Final project meeting, 12 December 2012, Bonn (DE)

The final project meeting will take place prior to the final project conference on December 12th in Bonn (DE).

 

 

5th project meeting, Budapest/ Pécs (HU), 06/07 September 2012


The 5th project meeting took place in Pécs (HU) hosted by the project partner DEKRA HU and hosted a European stakeholder workshop in addition to the partner meeting.

During the meeting especially the European quality standards for professional driver training and based on the EQF have been further discussed and defined by the project partners. Furthermore it has been agreed to develop implementation scenarios for the ProfDRV project countries that outline possibilities how these standards could be implemented in the different national realities or how they are already implemented.

Another major agenda item was the implementation of the final European conference taking place in December. It has been discussed how the project should look like, who should be invited in terms of speakers and participants and how the overall conference will be documented in a final project publication. Furthermore possible recommendations with regard to the further implementation of directive 2003/59/EC have been brainstormed by the partners and will be further defined during the weeks after the meeting in order to provide an input for further discussion of the directive in Europe.

This time also guest from Turkey joined our meeting. They are planning to implement a similar project in Turkey also together with other European partners in order to improve professional driver training in Turkey. It is their intention to use the ProfDRV results as a starting point and to adjust them among others to the requirements of bus drivers in Turkey and in EU countries.

 

   

4th project meeting, Florence (IT), 29/30 March 2012


The 4th project meeting took place in Florence (IT) and was kindly hosted by our Italian project partner TkF.

Major parts of the meeting have been devoted to the review and further discussion of the drafted EQF compatible profile for professional drivers (freight transport) and to the drafted standards for professional driver training under directive 2003/59/EC in Europe. The partnership reviewed in both cases the whole set of defined learning outcomes and quality standards and the revised versions will be presented in April and May to different kind of stakeholders from the industry, vocational education and training and to further subject matter experts. The project partners will get in touch with national stakeholders for this purpose.

Furthermore the partnership initially discussed the final European ProfDRV workshop that will take place between 11th and 13th December 2012 and the national workshops on the project results that will take place between now and March 2013. 3rd project meeting, London (UK), 29/30 November 2011


The third project meeting took place in the UK and was kindly hosted by the project partner FTA in London on November 29 and 30th, 2011. Following the project meeting a EuroTra expert forum took place in London which had been connected to the ProfDRV project meeting in order to make use of synergies between ProfDRV and EuroTras activities. The EuroTra expert forum focused on the "urban deliveries".

During the London meeting first project final and intermediate results have been discussed by the project partners. Among others the results of WP 2 on the current situation of professional drivers vocational education and training have been finally discussed, the EQF compatible profile for professional drivers has been further elaborated and the partners brainstormed on the "standards" on professional driver training that are supposed to be proposed in the further course of the project. Also during the upcoming project phase until the next meeting Florence stakeholder interviews are planned in order to consult on the drafted profil and standards that will be prepared until beginning of 2012.

   

 

   

2nd project meeting, Dordrecht (NL), 06/07 April 2011


The second project meeting took place in the Netherlands and was kindly hosted by the project partner VTL in Dordrecht on April 06 and 07th, 2011.

Following the project meeting a EuroTra expert forum took place in Dordrecht which had been connected to the ProfDRV project meeting in order to make use of synergies between ProfDRV and EuroTras activities. The EuroTra expert forum focused on the "Drivers' shortage".

During the meeting the first intermediate results on the current status of professional drivers vocational education and training have been discussed and the work on a task based EQF compatible profile for professional drivers has been started. Both project tasks will be accompanied by different interview and survey rounds implemented in the next project phase until the meeting in London in November 11. Furthermore the project partners discussed objectives and tools for the project dissemination work and quality assurance within the project that will be implemented throughout the remaining project period.

  

 

   

1st project mtg., Norderstedt (DE), 11/12 October 2010


The first project meeting took place on October 11/12 at the premises of DEKRA Akademie in Norderstedt (DE). During the meeting the partners had the chance to get to know each other and each others organisations better in order to work together for the comming 30 months. The coordinating partners DEKRA used the chance to introduce its own work a bit more in detail and allowed the project representatives an inside view in their premisses incl. driving practice grounds, training workshops and other facilities as well as stationary and mobile driving simulator.

The partnership discussed the overall project and its approach, brainstormed on the different project elements, agree on basic procedures for communication and cooperation, common terms and concepts were discussed and work in workpackage 01 and 02 was started in order to start project implementation directly after the meeting.
